Homecoming Starts With Powder Puff

2-0

It's Homecoming Week!  Ugly sweater day.  Pep Rally.  The Parade.  Chili dump.  And, of course, Powder Puff Football.  Last year, the Juniors beat the Seniors for the first time in memory, perhaps ever.  This team was eyeing a 2-0 career and they did not disappoint.  After two thrilling halves of football, the Seniors walked (sashayed?) away with a 30-18 victory over a very talented Junior class.  Enjoy the start of Homecoming Week below the jump.

Seidl came to play.

We had an excellent chain gang for the event.

Hollywood, coaching up his secret weapon: his throwing QB, and my favorite blonde sister, Eden.

Hey, Rock!  Is that a cell phone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Aaaaaaaand there we go.  Two and a Half coaches.

And the troops love their coaches!

Things started off pretty friendly in the trenches.

The girls were even laughing as they fought for position.  Then things took a turn...

And why am I not surprised?

Yep, things got real.  Real fast.

The Seniors got on the board first, scoring on a quarterback keeper by the red-headed rocket.

We will be hearing from this one again, later in the post.

The Juniors stormed back, with an excellent kickoff return.

Seriously?  Wow, that team meant business!

The Amato A-Train looked like she was going to run all over the Seniors all night.  In fact, I'll have to remember to ask her to teach her boy-toy how to run like that.

The Professor was dolling out some weighty advice: "Tackle the one with the ball!"

This young lady was pressing "B" to spin all night long.

"Olivia, you're playing great out there.  But when we take you out, please don't yell "What the FUCK!?" so loud that the announcers up in the booth can hear it."  Great advice, coach.  But that's something that could have been brought to her attention yesterday.

And they say it isn't tackle football.

More Amato.  Bad news for the Seniors - everyone stopped when they thought she was tackled.  50 yards later, it was a tie ballgame, 12-12.

Some of the Juniors took a page out of the "I'm too tough for pants and sleeves" playbook.  Meanwhile, I was shivering in my sweatshirt and jeans.

It wouldn't have been a football game without an injury...

...But Oreos and a puffy jacket made it all better.

Another big run for the Seniors put them ahead for good at 18-12.  What did the troops think of that?

Yup.

The Seniors needed a stop, so they wasted no time getting their tackling machine, Seidl, into the game.

SIT DOWN!

Eden was 2/4 for 39 yards and a touchdown for a QB rating of 214.4  Hollywood's is 110.2.  Just sayin'...

This might be your starting QB on Saturday.

Reverse.  Best play in Powder Puff.

Austin - what are you preening for?  Oh, that's right...

"Our coaches are so dreamy..."

"You bet we are!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Dream on."

At halftime, the Junior coaches needed to make some adjustments.  Especially with how close they were getting to the players.

Is it just me, or is that Mini-Coach Schneider, Dixon, and Bongle?

Yup.

And the Seniors were ready for the 2nd half...

The Juniors stormed back with an unexpected aerial assault.

But Seidl and the Seniors kept stopping the youngin's whenever they got some momentum.

You know things are going well when the horns come out.

Remember the red-headed rocket?  Oh yeah, this is TD #2.

The biggest difference with the boys isn't the tackling, it's how they celebrate a TD.  Pucker up?

OMG. LOL. TTYL.

Did I mention Seidl was a tackling machine?

"I said SIT DOWN BITCHES!"

And she also sniffed out the Junior's "Is this the right ball?" trick play.  One coach on the Junior staff said after the game "It's not even fair.  Seidl is just one of those girls who understands football."

I just love this pic...

But not as much as this one.  You couldn't pay me to sit near that guy.  Looks like you catch a touch of the Downs by proximity alone.

SHE'S BACK!  With over 150 yards rushing and this, her 3rd TD, she reminded me a little of one of our running backs. Well, Just a little.

She was tired after that one.  But don't get too close!  She still has enough energy to steal your soul.

"Holy shit!  She is stealing souls!"

#duckface

When Eden wasn't at QB, she made a great pulling guard...

...And cheerleader.

I love the athleticism to be able to lay out and make the play.

One suggestions, Class of 2014 - next year, make sure your fans commit.  Check out the difference between these nice young Junior lads...

... To the crazy Senior fans.  Just sayin'.

Oh, and Junior coaches: I love an X-Box headset as much as the next guy, but why are you wearing it at the game?

Last play of the game, the Seniors maaaaaay have gotten away with a hold there.

But as a Senior raced to the goal line for an almost-certain TD...

She got SMOKED by a Junior...

But no one was hurt the play.  Phew.

Oh Yeah.

One more time.

Let's take this momentum into the weekend!

OK, now you're just showing off.

Enjoy the memories, ladies.

They even had a fan line at the end.  Boss.
